This black crowned night heron has taken up residence on the farm and is picking the pond dry of fish. Occasionally it drags a fish out that is too big for the heron to swallow and leaves the poor fish to flop around outside the pond. Fortunately I have been quick to throw it back in so it might live to see another day.
